Born in Florida and raised by South American parents in California, Nathalie’s culture and personal journey serve as motivation for her creative works.

She first dipped her toes in the vast pool of writing in 2018 when she practiced therapeutic journaling. Her journaling then took the form of poetry and prose, opening her eyes and her heart to new modes of expression.

In January of 2021, Nathalie Valentina Zender was admitted to Harvard University, and in February of 2025, she earned her master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature. Her novel-in-progress is a contemporary Queer Latinx story inspired by her thesis, How to Write Compelling and Authentic Trauma Fiction Using Characterization.
